New theory on how iguanas made it to Fiji and Tonga

A scientist thinks he has solved the mystery of how iguanas arrived in Fiji and Tonga. Dr Brice Noonan, a biologist with the University of Mississippi, thinks the iguana walked across a landbridge millions of years ago. Until now it had been widely believed the reptiles swam or rafted to the Pacific destinations, but Dr Noonan thinks a swim from the Americas to the Pacific is unlikely as it would have taken six months to complete.
