Pacific telco looks to Ireland to hire

A company which is distributing mobile phone top-up cards in the Pacific for Digicel is hoping to recruit sales people from Ireland.

FlexPacific's Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Breen, who is originally from Ireland, says there has been a strong response to advertisements the company has placed on the internet.

He says pay-as-you-go mobile phones are becoming extremely popular in the Pacific - including in Papua New Guinea and Fiji where his company operates.

Mr Breen says while his company mostly hires locals, people from countries such as Ireland and Australia have more experience in the mobile phone industry.
