Landowners block Kokoda Track in PNG
Updated
Landowners along PNG's Kokoda Track have closed the historic track to trekkers until a promise to develop the area is fulfilled. Mt Kodu landowners say they haven't benefited from development projects along Kokoda. Their chairman, Barney Jack, says while other villages are reaping dividends from an Australia-PNG development deal, these landowners have missed out. Mr Jack says the closure is indefinite and that they'll be meeting the Deputy Prime Minister Sir Puka Temu to address their concerns.
