Assessment of Cyclone Oli underway in Bora Bora, Tubuai

Authorities in French Polynesia have begun to survey the damage after the worst storm to hit the territory in years. Cyclone Oli destroyed hundreds of homes across Tahiti, Papeete and the Austral Island of Tubuai.

Meanwhile, Fiji's Cyclone Warning Centre, which has been monitoring another tropical depression near the Samoas, says there is a low to moderate chance that it will develop into a cyclone.
