Economists to tackle farm-to-table ease at conference

A major agriculture conference gets underway in Adelaide, South Australia, later this morning with the annual Australian Agricultural and Resource Economists Conference. Of interest to the Pacific is the global growth in corporate and family farming.
One of the key note speakers is David Shearer, Research Program Manager for AgriBusiness with the Australian Centre for International Agriculture Research. Mr Shearer's area of expertise is in getting a better understanding of improvements that can be made along the chain of getting produce from the farm to the market.
This includes benefits to all involved in the chain including the producer, the marketer and the consumer. He explains the concept of "Value Chain Research".
