Key meeting of Pacific officials to begin in Vanuatu

This morning, the official meeting of officials from fourteen Pacific countries begins on how their economies can cope with the impacts of the global economic crisis.

Thusfar, the United Nations has congratulated the Pacific for the progress they have made on a strategy to combat poverty, and seems to have gained a new champion in the boss of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Dr Noeleen Heyzer.

Australia Network's Pacific Correspondent Sean Dorney previews the official meeting and reviews the preamble from Port Vila, Vanuatu.
