Cyclone Pat likely to strenghten to a hurricane

The Cook Islands are being told to expect strong winds and high tides as tropical cyclone Pat continues to head towards its southern islands. The severe weather system is currently making its way towards the popular tourist resort island of Aitutaki.

However, Fiji Metservice's Tropical Cyclone Centre says Nuie is no longer threatened.
