Aboriginals miss out on mining contracts

An Aboriginal association in Western Australia wants mining companies to be forced to engage indigenous contractors. It argues that Aborigines have missed out on the benefits of Australia's mining booms, and companies are unlike to employ Aboriginal contractors unless forced. It could set a precedent for the industry nationwide as it gears up for another decade of massive global demand for minerals, oil and gas.
