PNG Transparency criticises government

Transparency International PNG has strongly criticised the proposed changes to the Organic Law on the Duties and Responsibilities of the Leadership Code and the PNG Constitution. T-I PNG's Chairman, Peter Aitsi says the changes will weaken the Ombudsman Commission and make it harder to hold corrupt leaders to account. Mr Aitsi says the move also highlights the widely held perception that there's one set of laws for the rich and powerful and one for the poor in the country.
