Tinian facing six months without ferry link to Saipan

The island of Tinian in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands is likely to be hard hit by the suspension of the only ferry service linking it to Saipan. The Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino, which runs the ferry, has confirmed that from March 16th it will be taken out of operation for six months for maintenance. It means that anyone wanting to travel between the islands will have to rely on air transportation - and there's concern that might deter the hundreds of tourists that keep Tinian's economy going.
