Fij and Solomons Tropical Cyclones

Fiji's Northern provinces are waiting for the unwelcome arrival of Severe Tropical Cyclone Tomas. The cyclone is being forecast to cross the country's northern provinces this evening, leading to the evacuation of around five thousand people to emergency shelters, and curfews in all population centres. At the same time, emergency officials in Solomon Islands are keeping watch on Severe Tropical Cyclone Ului, which hit its Southern Provinces overnight, although there have been few reports of damage.
