Cyclone Tomas pounds northern and eastern Fiji islands

Islands to the north and east of Fiji's main island of Viti Levu are feeling the damaging force of Tropical Cyclone Tomas. The Category Four cyclone continues to belt the eastern quarter of Vanua Levu and islands in the Lau group with destructive winds averaging 175 kilometres an hour.
