Solomons may miss out on investment if dolphin exports don't stop

Solomon Islands could lose 20 million dollars in investment if the country doesns't stop its live dolphin export policies. Two south-east Asian companies want to build two tuna canneries in Guadalcanal Province, but the tuna would not be marketable becasue it would not have have the dolphin safe trademark. Earth Island Institute, which works to eliminate dolphin deaths caused by the tuna fishing industry, says two large south-east Asian companies are prepared to build the canneries and employ up to 4 thousand local people. But dolphin trading would need to be abolished.
