One hundred per cent of working journalists surveyed in Fiji say they had had stories censored in the past year because of censorship imposed by the military regime.

The Deputy Editor of the Fiji Times, Sophie Foster, told the World Press Freedom Day Conference at the University of Queensland that 100 per cent of them also said they were not able to report freely.

She said as a result of censorship regulations that had been in place for more than 12 months, there was a worrying trend towards journalists in Fiji censoring themselves.
