Gender equality lags across Pacific
Updated
The Secretariat of the Pacific Community says gender equality across the Pacific is too slow considering the number of years national governments and regional groups have been tackling issues such as violence against women.
The 11th Triennial Conference of Pacific Women at the Secretariat of the Pacific Community headquarters in Noumea, New Caledonia, will identify gaps in progress and discuss gender equality commitments in the region.
The meeting will bring together governments, civil society organisations, donors and development partners. Tea Braun, who is a gender equality adviser for SPC, says that improvements need to be made.
