Samoa optimistic about new tuna loining plant for Savaii

Samoa is investigating the possibility of setting up a tuna loining plant on the island of Savaii - a project that would create 1200 new jobs. Samoa's Deputy Prime Minister, Misa Telefoni, told the Pacific Investment Summit, in Sydney today, that the Samoan government has been holding high-level talks with the United States company Starkist - which owns a tuna cannery in neighbouring, American Samoa.
