New Solomons govt called on to take MDGs seriously

As the new Solomon Islands government begins taking the reigns of power in the nation, local NGOs are calling on it to start working seriously on improving the quality of life for its people.
In the year 2000, Solomon Islands signed-up to achieve the eight United Nations Millennium Development Goals. But with the deadline due in 2015, the Solomons like many developing nations will fall short.
That failure is being blamed on a lack of political will.
