Calls for Cook Islands election people's forum

There has been a call for candidates in the Cook Islands' November 17 election to face a so-called people's forum to address four questions specially drafted for campaigners.
Candidates would be posed questions on the need for improving the political mechanism, the use of a referendum to have the public's voice heard, the allocation of seats based on representation, and the preference for pre- or post-election commitments.
The forum is proposed for next week.
