A flower thought to be extinct has been rediscovered on the Big Island of Hawaii with more than 30 plants bearing the characteristic greeny-white flowers and dark foliage found in rainforest on the slopes of Kohala volcano.

The flowers were accidently rediscovered by a team from Nature Conservancy.

The organisation's senior scientist in Hawaii, Sam Gon, explains how the team found the flower.
