Poor turnout mars Guam primaries

Low voter turnout and up to 14 per cent of spoiled votes has marred Guam's primary elections over this past Labor Day holiday.

The holiday, bad weather and no Democratic primary candidate for the gubernatorial race have all been blamed for the poor result.

The Guam election commission is expected to certify the election today or tomorrow.

Shawn Gumataotao says all sides are now rallying support for the election proper in just over 50 days' time.
