Social media is coverage leader in failed PNG mutiny
Updated
As we know yesterday's failed mutiny in PNG, was launched at three in the morning, but was finished by at least seven o'clock that night.
That speed of events meant it was online media, Facebook, Twitter, and local blogsites which were leading the coverage, and which were being used by Papua New Guineans to keep up to date.
Radio was well used, but by the time TV bulletins went to air in PNG the mutiny was at an end, while it was not till this morning that local papers were out.
The same was true last year during the politcal standoff between Peter O'Neill and Sir Michael Somare.
