Pacific Armies discuss disaster and humanitarian support

Over 100 army leaders from 27 countries are in Australia's national capital, Canberra, this week discussing the challenges in supporting disaster relief and humanitarian assistance.

The Australian Army and United States Army of the Pacific are co-hosting the 2012 Pacific Armies Management Seminar.

They'll be attending a week of workshops and presentations focused on sharing experiences in responding to natural disasters, and managing disaster relief and humanitarian assistance.

Alexandra Wake spoke to the Commander General of the US Army in the Pacific Lt General Francis Wiercinski and the deputy chief of Army, Major General Angus Campbell.
