30 million US dollar scandal nets 3 Taiwanese ministers

Money intended for Papua New Guinea is at the centre of a scandal in Taiwan that, yesterday, saw the resignation of 3 key ministers and an apology from Taiwan's President, Chen Shui-bian.Thirty million US dollars - intended to persuade Papua New Guinea to switch its diplomatic recognition from Beijing to Taipei - has gone missing.Taiwanese authorities have raided the offices of Taiwan's Vice Premier, its Foreign Minister and Vice Defence Minister, and all three men have resigned.
