The abolition of slavery and the French Pacific.

This weekend, France celebrated the 160th anniversary of the abolition of slavery. During the commemorations in Paris, French President Nicolas Sarkozy announced that starting from next school year, all primary school students will have to learn about this dark period of France's History. If the President's declaration was generally well received, the reform will not mean any change in the history curriculums of French Pacific territories.
