Effectiveness of the UN's AIDS programme questioned

The United Nations is being accused of treating HIV and AIDS as an exclusive disease at the expense of the rest of the world's health sector. An international health expert argues the program UNAIDS should be closed down immediately because the millions of dollars devoted to tackling HIV would be better spent on other deadly illnesses. The criticism coincides with a UN Commission of AIDS visit to Papua New Guinea, where close to 60-thousand people are infected with the disease.
