UN urged not to keep pressing Tokelau to decolonise

A Tokelauan community leader in New Zealand thinks the United Nations should stop trying to make Tokelau more independent for a while.UN officials have met in Indonesia to discuss progress in decolonising the Pacific.
Its reported they are apparently frustrated by two failed attempts to persuade Tokelauans to vote for self-determination.Tokelau is a New Zealand territory of fewer that fifteen hundred people, and consists of three small atolls north of Samoa.Most Tokelauans live in New Zealand.
