George W Bush defends his handling of Iraq war
Updated
U-S President George W Bush and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel have warned Iran that it will face further sanctions unless it stops enriching uranium.
Speaking after a meeting in Berlin, Chancellor Merkel said Iran would have to face the consequences if it continued to defy the will of the international community.
Mr Bush told reporters that he'd prefer to resolve the Iranian issue through diplomatic means, but said that all options remained on the table.
Mr Bush also clarified comments he made to a British newspaper that he regreted the way he handled some aspects of the Iraq war.
"Removing Saddam Hussein made the world a safer place and yeah, the guy said 'What would you do over?' First of all you don't get to do things over in my line of work but I could have used better rhetoric to indicate that one - we tried exhausted diplomacy in Iraq, that two- that I don't like war, but the decision to remove Saddam Hussein was the right decision."
