Commonwealth Envoy outlines agenda for Fiji political forum
Updated
The Commonwealth envoy on Fiji, former governor general of New Zealand, Sir Paul Reeves says Fiji's proposed political forum may be convened in August this year. Sir Paul told a press conference in Suva today that what is now being called a "presidential forum" has received broad support from political leaders in the country. But he says the focus of the forum could be broadened to include more than just electoral reforms as suggested by the interim government. Sir Paul says the proposed consultation will be independent of both the military-led government and its council dealing with a people's charter.
