Political forum on Bougaiville gets police approval

A non government organisation in Bougainville has now been given permission by police to hold a political forum tomorrow. The first attempt by the Bougainville Interchurch Forum last month was stopped by police with two of the events organisers taken in for questioning.The women's group say the forum is necessary because landowners have not been consulted enough about a newly formed partnership between the Autonomous Bougainville Government and the privately owned Bouganville Resource Development Corporation.
