Fiji appoints new High Commissioner to Australia

Fiji's interim government has appointed a non-diplomat to the sensitive post of High Commissioner in Australia. He's Kamlesh Arya, a former Labor Party MP, retired teacher and President of the Hindu religious organisation, the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha. Because of his new appointment, he will resign from the National Council for Building a Better Fiji and the Public Accounts Committee.
