Fiji's interim Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum successfully negotiated a return to work by the country's bottled water operators. The water operators were threatening to take the interim goverment to court, fearing that new taxes would lead to the collapse of their industry and the loss of hundreds of jobs. Settlement was reached when Mr Sayed-Khaiyum agreed to remove the 20-cent per litre export tax imposed by Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry.
