Indian blasts prompt criticism of 'lax' authorities
Updated
India remains on high alert after a string of bomb attacks on the weekend in two major cities.
A group called the "Indian Mujahideen" says it carried out the bombings in the Gujarati city of Ahmedabad, which killed 45 people and wounded about 160.
The southern city of Bangalore was earlier hit by several explosions, which killed at least one person.
India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has announced he will visit the site of blasts in Ahmedabad.
But he is also facing criticism that that authorities had been lax in probing increasingly confident militant groups.
