Race to have Delhi ready for Games

As Beijing recovers from the hangover of staging the most expensive Olympic games in history its emerging economic rival India is preparing to stage its own sporting festival.

New Delhi will host the Commonwealth Games in just over two years and more than 17 billion dollars is likely to be spent getting the city's dilapidated sports venues up to standard.
