Call to reform traditional 'pondok' schools in Thai south

Whoever is in power in Thailand has to continue dealing with the problem of an active Muslim insurgency in the south of the country.
One prominent native of southern Thailand is ASEAN secretary-general Surin Pitsuwan. He's suggested one method for ending the insurgency may lie in reforming the curriculum of traditional 'pondok' schools.
