ADB cushions region's impact on the poor

RAThe Asian Development Bank is to help Pacific Islands countries find ways to cushion the impact on the poor of soaring prices. The bank says sharp increases in fuel prices have resulted in very high inflation in some Pacific countries, power shortages and pressure on government budgets. The Bank has approved 225-thousand US dollars to identify short to medium-term policies to address the price increases.
