Urgent action needed to regulate seafloor mining

Pacific Island governments have been told to act quickly to ensure that when undersea mining goes ahead, it does so with the necessary financial and environmental safeguards. The Pacific looks set to be the first region in the world to mine the sea floor for minerals such as gold, copper and zinc.
