Independence leader returns to Aceh after three decades

For the first time in 30 years, the 88-year-old founder of the Aceh Independence movement set foot in his homeland.
Hasan Tiro has spent the last three decades in exile in Sweden, coordinating the insurgency from a distance until peace was negotiated in 2005. On Saturday, he arrived back in Aceh, with police saying he was just another foreign citizen.
