Taiwan committed to Pacific allies
Updated
Taiwan's Ambassador to Solomon Islands, George Chan says his government's commitment to its six Pacific allies is rock-solid. He says President Ma Ying-jeou has also indicated increasing funding to its 23 allies around the world. Mr Chan was reponding to suggestions that Taiwan might scale-down its assistance to its allies under President Ma's new government. He says the postponement of the proposed Taiwan-Pacific Allies Summit in Taiwan next month was because the new Taiwanese government needed time to sort out certain issues.
