Slowdown hits the art market

Well those millionaires are a staple at the world's art auctions - but with economic downturn they're starting to do it tough.

In London last week the art market was flat and if the results of Sotheby's Aboriginal art auction in Sydney last night are anything to go by, the art industry in Australia is facing tough times ahead. Sotheby's first Aboriginal auction sale for the year cleared less than half of the work on offer and there were none of the one million dollar sales seen at auctions last year.
