Piracy problem calls for international action

Piracy is once again rearing its ugly head with the International Maritime Bureau describing the situation in the Gulf of Aden as out of control.
Audacious attacks by Somali pirates on international shipping have sparked concerns of copycat raids in Asia, a region long notorious for piracy and maritime crime. While the countries along the Straits of Malacca have been effective in curbing piracy, the situation in the Gulf calls for more concerted action from the international community.
