Rights activists face challenges in Asia Pacific

When the Universal Declaration of Human Rights came into effect sixty years ago today even it's founders conceded that the declaration was a non-binding document largely based on the power of moral persuasion.
Human rights advocates today say the defence of human rights is a constant struggle. One group of advocates from the Asia Pacific region are currently at the University of New South Wales learning how to use the declaration and other international instruments in the fight for human rights.
